MovieScore Media release the score to the Canadian survival thriller Backcountry. The music is provided by Frères Lumières, an ensemble made up of multi instrumentalists Vince Nudo and Dan Watchorn who began their musical collaborations in the Montreal rock band Priestess... The music for Backcountry is another one of those scores that is perfect to compliment the atmosphere of the onscreen action, but falls rather flat outside of the cinema. While the 12 tracks (29 min, 26 sec) of music is interesting, it's not the sort of music I'd want to listen to for pleasure - and I can't think of that many people who would enjoy it on its own merits. You can put this on in the background and you really won't notice it. There's no interesting themes, no indication of what sort of onscreen action its designed to accompany, just wall to wall bland background music. At best, I'd describe this as "functional" and nothing more. 4 Darren Rea Buy this item online
