Varèse Sarabande Records release John Debney's score for The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge out of Water. In the film, SpongeBob SquarePants, the world’s favourite sea dwelling invertebrate, comes ashore to our world for his most super heroic adventure yet... John Debney's score for The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge out of Water is packed to bursting with memorable and powerful themes. If, like me you were a teenager in the '80s and enjoyed the scores of Alan Silverstri, Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner and John Williams... then you're going to love this soundtrack, as Debney channels some of these Hollywood greats while they were at their peak. That's not to say that Debney "borrow wholesale" their work. No, this is all good quality original material here. What he delivers are themes very much in the style of these epic composers. If you like Silverstri's score for Back to the Future, then you'll love 'The End / Get Him' and 'Not So Fast Burger Beard / Plankton / Real Teamwork'; likewise, fans of Horner's score for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn, will get a kick out of 'Bubbles To The Rescue / Beach Search For Krabby Pattys'; and there are little pieces of Williams's scores to movies like Jurassic Park in 'Plankton Attack / Tank Defeat / Giant Robot / Trying To Steal Formula'. There's even a little of Williams's score for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom hidden inside 'Torturing Plankton / Refund'. There are so many memorable moments, so many interesting themes that this is well worth adding to your soundtrack collection. Just sit back and let your brain soak it all up. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
