MovieScore Media returns to the wonderful land of Chima with Volume Two of Anthony Lledo’s epic score for Legends of Chima, the animated adventure series based on the hit Lego toy line of the same name... Following on from Legends of Chima: Volume One, comes Volume Two. While there are a few themes from the first release that are referenced in passing, I was surprised to discover that Anthony Lledo had started from scratch and developed a whole string of new and memorable themes. The score contains 10 tracks (31 min, 52 sec) and there isn't a waste second. There's the spirit of both James Horner and Jerry Goldsmith running throughout this album, and there's even a smattering of Alan Silvestri's Avengers theme running through 'Frozen Land'. 'The Phoenix' opens in a similar vein to David Arnold's score for Stargate, and also incorporates a theme that reminded me of John Williams's 'The Imperial March' from The Empire Strikes Back. It's a deeply rich score with plenty of beautiful moments to savour. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
