Varèse Sarabande release the original score to Orange is the New Black. The album features original music composed by Gwendolyn Sanford, Brandon Jay and Scott Doherty. To be honest, I wasn't overly impressed with the music on this album. It felt a little disjointed and random to be a score that I'd want to listen to for enjoyment. It could be because the music is composed by three different writers, or it could just be that the music feels a little too dated already. There's no real memorable themes, no segments of music that make you sit up and take notice... No, this is rather bland background music. But to be fair, it works well on the show - which is were it was intended to sit - rather than a score to be listened to on its own merits. 'Everybody Loves Dayanara' was probably the one track that stood out as having a little bit of something of interest. But even that's not overly impressive and on most scores you'd instantly forget about it. The score contains 23 tracks (1 hr, 08 min, 05 sec) and while fans of the show may lap this up, for everyone else there's very little to get excited about. 4 Darren Rea Buy this item online
