Danish instrumental post-rockers Town Portal release their sophomore album, The Occident, through Small Pond Recordings.

The band takes a very jazzy approach to their unique brand of instrumental rock. In places it felt like a freeform jazz band had picked up rock instruments and were just jammin'. Elsewhere it’s got an entirely post-punk feel to it.

The album's 8 songs (32 min, 23 sec) cover a wide area of the rock genre, and just to mix it up even more, 'Moon Treaty' provides a mellow break.

If you're a fan of instrumental rock, then you'd be crazy not to give this a listen.
