Felix Laband releases his new album, Deaf Safari, through Compost Records. This project presents a story, which Laband feels accurately conveys his personal experience with the African world he lives in.

'Ding Dong Thing' was the highlight for me. Mainly because the opening sound byte has such a sing-song quality to it and then Laband comes in with his quirky, upbeat tune. The end result is a humorous, and playful track.

'Getting Old' is the polar opposite to 'Ding Dong Thing'. It opens with a creepy quote that is repeated over and over again, before a very simple tune kicks in, with more weird, looped sounds. It's a very entertaining track, and show another side to Laband's music construction.

The album closes on this album's most beautiful track, 'Pietermaritzburg' which opens with a couple of acoustic guitars playing, what is a hypnotic tune. The song leaves you wanting more. The end result is addictive and it's hard not to get sucked into Laband's world.
