Silva Screen Records release Dominic Sherrer's score for British TV series Ripper Street. The score for the first three series perfectly conjures up the world of East London from over a century ago with its detailed and thrilling collection of musical sounds that can range from a mandola to a Norwegian Hardanger fiddle... Dominic Sherrer's score for the first three series of Ripper Street contains 23 tracks (1 hr, 04 min, 31 sec). It's an interesting enough score, but not one that delivers any real surprises. Even if you haven't seen the TV series, you'll pretty much guess how the music will be delivered. There's plenty of familiar sounds here. Tracks like 'Telegraph' are very reminiscent of Hans Zimmer's score for Sherlock Holmes (2009). And the music does rather well to conjure up a dark, Victorian landscape. It's not a score I'd personally listen to for entertainment, but fans of the show will no doubt relish the opportunity to pick this up. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
