Lucy Rose's second album, Work it Out sees the young artist rebranding herself as she grows and matures as a person and an artist. 2012's Like I Used To was more Folk based, and showed her softer, gentle side. With her new album, Rose strides out with a lot more confidence to deliver a bolder indie pop sound with more than a handful of memorable songs. Originally the label paired Rose with a number of songwriters to make this a more collaborative event. But after a couple of false starts, Rose decided to go it alone - and the results speak for themselves. The album consists of 13 songs (44 min, 14 sec), with personal highlights being the memorable 'Like An Arrow'; 'Nebraska'; 'Koln'; 'Shelter' and 'Till The End'. This is certainly an album that gets better the more you listen to it. There's a hint of Lily Allen running through the LP, especially in tracks like 'Shelter'. This is a mature indie pop album that is sure to be a hit. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
