Perpetual Motion People is Ezra Furman latest album. It was recorded with Furman's current band The Boyfriends - comprising Jorgen Jorgensen (bass), Ben Joseph (keyboards, guitar), Sam Durkes (drums) and saxophonist Tim Sandusky. From track to track Furman changes his style and genre - mirroring, I suppose, the fact that he is constantly changing the way he present his gender, not to mention his up and down relationship with religion. The album contains 13 songs (42 min, 51 sec) and takes in influences from the '70s, '80s and '90s, all neatly repackaged and presented for a more modern audience. While, personally, it wasn't an album I was really drawn too, I can appreciate Furman's obvious talent and wide range of influences. It's not an album that will last for long, but for the here and now, it's a blast. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
