Sony Music release the soundtrack to Fantastic 4, with music composed by Marco Beltrami and Philip Glass. Based on the Marvel comic written by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the film follows four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe that alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy...

I'm not sure why the soundtrack to Fantastic 4 was composed by two notable composers,; whether it was a collaboration or if they worked on specific areas and everything was pulled together. Sadly I also don't have any clue as to which composer was responsible for writing which tracks, which is a shame as it would have been interesting to hear what each brought to the end project.

Marco Beltrami and Philip Glass have delivered some impressive scores in recent years and while they deliver an enjoyable score for Fantastic 4, it's certainly nothing special. There's a little of Alan Silvestri's The Avengers soundtrack (most notable in the main theme and tracks like 'Strength in Numbers') rattling around trying to get out as well as the odd flurry of Danny Elfman-esque music.

The album contains 25 tracks (1 hr, 06 min, 20 sec). It opens with a strong main theme, which peppers the album and then there's the odd interesting track to sink your teeth into. It's a enjoyable, if by-the-numbers, blockbuster superhero score.
