Varèse Sarabande release the soundtrack to Gloria. A bold and compelling tale of ambition, betrayal and redemption, the film chronicles the life of international pop star Gloria Trevi, the ‘Mexican Madonna.’ Carefully groomed by an abusive manager and propelled by her politically charged lyrics and unashamed sexuality, Gloria shoots to unparalleled stardom - until a sex scandal that mesmerized the world brings her crashing down... This is one of those soundtracks that you're only really going to appreciate if you enjoyed the movie or are actually a fan of Gloria Trevi's music. For those, like me, that haven't seen the movie, and have never heard a Trevi song, this soundtrack will seem a little strange. Trevi's songs have a distinct Mexican flavour (think bad Eurovision entry, and you won't be far off). The album contains 13 tracks (46 min, 15 sec) of these, 4 (11 min, 28 sec) are Lorne Balfe's beautiful score, whilst the remaining 9 (34 min, 47 sec) are made up of classic Trevi songs performed by Sofía Espinosa, who plays Trevi in the movie. Personally, I only enjoyed Balfe's music, but if you enjoyed the movie then this will be a wonderful souvenir of Espinosa's vocal performance. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
