Marco Beltrami And Buck Sanders's score for No Escape is an atmospheric, slightly cliched, score that no doubt fits wonderfully into the movie. Listened to as a collection of music on its own merits, well... it's not half as bad as I was expecting.

Yes, it's ambient and a little by-the-numbers, but it's actually an enjoyable score to put on in the background while you do something else that requires your attention. The album contains 27 tracks (55 min, 19 sec) and covers most bases; from the action adventure adrenaline rush of tracks like 'Jack Be Nimble' to mellow, reflective pieces like 'Border Refuge'. The album ends with the song 'Take Care Of You' performed by Jimmy James.

While it's not quite as enjoyable as the duo's previous score for Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, it's still a rather enjoyable score, and will be welcomed by fans of the film.
