Lakeshore Records release the John Swihart's score from Staten Island Summer. The movie is a coming-of-age comedy that follows a group of misfit lifeguards on a mission to throw the wildest party of the summer...

The synopsis for Staten Island Summer sounds like your typical, cliched male-teen based summer movie, and Swilhart's score does nothing to elevate it - but then why should it? In truth this is mainly a collection of music cues and 'doing stuff' themes (you, know the sort of music I mean. The kind of bland, up tempo tracks that are designed to heighten montage scenes where character are undertaking a task like looking for something).

In fact the only track that works well as a stand alone piece of music, is the album's closing track 'I Kept Imagining Her Dad'.

To be fair, Swihart does the best he can, given the movie's subject matter, but at the end of the day, it's still a rather cliched, dull score. The album contains 23 tracks (31 min, 49 sec).
