MovieScore Media releases Kim Panert's score for the family drama A Reason. Written and directed by Dominique Schilling, the movie takes place at a family gathering of the Hilgrim family who have a hard time getting along. Serena is a young, gay introvert who is forced to endure the dreaded family visit with her controlling older brother Nathan. The uneventful trip turns more intense when the house of their elegant Aunt Irene witnesses not only the reading of the elderly relative’s will - but also the unexpected course of events that ultimately forces the clan to reevaluate their views on love, forgiveness, and family... If you like melancholy scores, then you'll love Kim Planert's music for A Reason. The album contains 20 tracks (56 min, 31 sec) of beautiful, yet subtle music. This is a soundtrack that will stir emotions in even the coldest of hearts. Planert's approach saw him experimented with time manipulation techniques such as stretched audio textures and pulses in order to represent the passing of time. This was undertaken in order to produce segments designed to remind the listener of what really matters in life and to not waste the little time we have. The score opens with the beautiful 'The Road of Light and Shadow', which incorporates the aforementioned pulses, bringing attention to the "time" element of the movie. This helps to paint a picture for the listener, allowing the score to be appreciated as a collection of music in its own right. While the score has been produced to give another level to the movie, it really does stand on its own as a wonderfully intricate release. It's the later half of the score where this album comes into its own, tracks like 'I Don't Have Much Time' and 'Goodbye' house some of the album's most beautiful themes. If you like sad, beautiful soundtracks, then you really should seek this out. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
