The Fresh & Onlys were formed in 2008, but their sound takes its inspiration from the psychedelic '60s, although many critics refer to their sound as new garage rock. Early Years Anthology contains 12 tracks (39 min, 43 sec) and the overall production values make it sound like it was recorded in someone's garage or basement. Although, listened to through speakers, the sound is thrown wide with an impressive stereo landscape that witnesses strange, otherwise unnoticeable, sounds being flung to the far left and the far right (this is most noticeable on 'Bomb Wombs'). Personally, this is not an album I particularly enjoyed, but fans will no doubt lap it up. 6 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
