Dario Marianelli's score for Everest is released through Varèse Sarabande. Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, the movie documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. Their mettle tested by the harshest elements found on the planet, the climbers will face impossible obstacles as a lifelong obsession becomes a breathtaking struggle for survival... Given the harsh, yet breathtakingly beautiful landscape that is the backdrop for Everest, it's no surprise that Dario Marianelli pulls out all the stops to deliver a score which matches the awe inspiring photography. Eerily beautiful at times (the close of 'Chopper Rescue') this score is mainly composed of themes that help to convey an extra sense of wonder, beauty and the journey of those that looked death in the face for no other reward other than the fact they're attempting to complete a challenge that only a few will ever achieve. It's an incredibly deep score, which contains 16 tracks (48 min, 52 sec) of incredibly emotive music. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
