Lakeshore Records release the various artists soundtrack for Ashby. Awkward Ed Wallis moves to a new town with his single mom and needs help fitting in. Brainier than his peers, Ed figures playing high school football might be good way to make more friends, but his only new friend Eloise thinks it's odd. When Ed gets an assignment to write an essay about someone from an older generation, he introduces himself to his neighbour Ashby Holt and the two embark on an unlikely, immediate friendship. Ashby’s style of tough love takes some getting used to but, over time, Ed learns a lot from Ashby, including how to be courageous… which is very much needed when he learns his new best friend is a former CIA assassin... The various artists soundtrack to Ashby contains 12 songs (43 min, 11 sec). It's a pretty middle of the road collection of songs. But there's bound to be something here to appease most people's tastes. While it's not an album I'd rush to buy, for those that enjoyed the movie, this is a pretty entertaining musical souvenir of the film.
