Seattle's Valley Maker release their new album, When I Was A Child, features twelve (48 min, 56 sec) original songs that contemplate life, love, and death, faith and doubt, time and space. The band consists of Austin Crane and longtime collaborator Amy Godwin - both of whose vocals can be heard throughout the album. Their style is a laid back, mellow, acoustic, indie folk sound. Crane's vocals take a while to grow on you, while Godwin's haunting harmonising help to deliver some of the more impressive elements of the album. If you're not a fan of folk, then it's doubtful you'll get on with this. But it's worth giving them a listen... you never know. It's just this side of indie to appeal to a wider fan base. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
