MovieScore Media release Zacarías M. de la Riva’s score for Un Gallo Con Muchos Huevos (Little Rooster’s Egg-cellent Adventure) - the first Mexican animated feature to receive a wide release in the United States. The 3D animated adventure follows a timid young rooster named Toto who summons the courage to fight an evil rancher whose plans threaten to destroy his home...

I don't know what it is about scores for animated movies, but they're almost always packed to the rafters with beautiful themes. Zacarías M. de la Riva’s score for Un Gallo Con Muchos Huevos is no exception. Forget the fact that you've probably not seen the movie, or that you usually don't enjoy animated films aimed at a family market, this score is overflowing with plenty of themes to discover and enjoy.

The album contains 18 tracks (55 min, 21 sec) and hardly a second of it is wasted. 'League of the Egg Avengers' contains a segment that appears to pay homage to John Williams's scores for both Star Wars and Superman (both are very brief and you'll be excused for almost missing them). 'The Fight' also contains a theme that reminded me of David Arnold's work on the James Bond franchise.

This is a score that's well worth searching out. Once again Zacarías M. de la Riva delivers the goods... and then some...
