Lakeshore Records release the various artists soundtrack to Wild Horses. The album features songs by Caitlin Eadie, Roy Gaines and his Tuxedo Blues Orchestra, Billy Joe Shaver, with score by Timothy Williams and a special performance of Cheyenne by the film’s writer/director/co-star Robert Duvall. Wild Horses is the story of Texas Ranger Samantha Payne who reopens a 15-year-old missing person case, and uncovers evidence that suggests that the boy was likely murdered on a ranch belonging to wealthy family man, Scott Briggs. When Scott’s estranged son unexpectedly returns home during the investigation, Samantha becomes even more convinced that the Briggs family was involved, and will stop at nothing to discover the truth about the boy’s death - even putting her own life in jeopardy... The soundtrack for Wild Horses contains 14 tracks (39 min, 39 sec) of this 8 (28 min, 23 sec) is made up of various artist songs, with the remaining 6 (11 min, 16 sec) being Timothy Williams original score. While I've been a fan of some of Williams's music in the past (Red Sky; Walking with the Enemy) the score for this movie requires a mellow Country sound - something I'm not personally a huge fan of. If you don't like Country and Western music then it's very unlikely that you'll enjoy this album. One for lovers of the movie only.
