Varèse Sarabande release Marcelo Zarvos's score for The Affair. The album features original music from season one of the acclaimed TV series. Welcome to "The End of the World." Noah Solloway has escaped the city with his family to his in-laws' estate in eastern Long Island. He's joined by his loving wife, Helen, and their four precocious children. At the same time, local Montauk waitress Alison Lockhart struggles with her husband, Cole, to move past a recent tragedy. In a chance encounter, Noah and Alison meet and connect. But in this bucolic beach town, it's impossible to avoid someone you yearn to see again... Marcelo Zarvos score for The Affair represents 28 tracks (57 min, 12 sec) from the show's first season. It's a laid back, chilled affair which you can easily put on in the background while you read or do some other task that doesn't require you to give your complete attention to the music. However, personally, I felt that it lacked any character. The tracks merged into one another without there being any standout tracks to speak of. Taken as a whole, it's a score to let wash over you, but that does mean that there's very little here that you'll take away after repeated listening. Even the opening and closing themes are a little on the forgettable side. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
