Plaza Mayor Company release Tommy Wai Kai Leung and Teddy Robin Kwan's score for The Bullet Vanishes. It's the 1930’s and two detectives are brought in to investigate the case of the vanishing Bullet. A series of murders have happen in a munitions factory and the owner, Ding, has put this down to a curse which is scaring the factory workers into staying at the factory to work. Guo & Song don’t believe in this being a supernatural occurrence and with the help of Xiaowu, a rookie policeman, they set out to find out how the victims, that start increasing in numbers, are killed when there’s no bullet to be found at the scene... Tommy Wai Kai Leung and Teddy Robin Kwan deliver a score that goes against every cliche in the book. There's no detective noir feel to this movie in the slightest. What the duo turn in are a collection of interesting themes unlike any you've heard before. The album contains 10 tracks (20 min, 06 sec) some of which are realised with computer samples of instruments, and others, like 'Who is Hero' are performed with a small collection of real instruments. The mix works well and it helps to keep the music interesting. This is also an album that works best when listened to from start to finish, rather than dipping in and out of. An interesting score that's worthy of your time. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
