Varèse Sarabande release Brian Tyler's score for the political thriller Truth. The film is based on Mary Mapes' memoir Truth and Duty: The Press, the President, and the Privilege of Power detailing the 2004 CBS 60 Minutes report investigating the military service of then-President George W. Bush - a report which would ultimately cost her and anchor Dan Rather their careers... Brian Tyler delivers a wonderfully diverse collection of themes for Truth. I was expecting it to be a little more cliched given the movie's plot. What Tyler delivers is an abundance of beautiful themes that work just as well, probably better if I'm honest, when listened to outside of the movie. The album contains 21 tracks (55 min, 57 sec) of music that sounds more like a compilation of highlights of a single composers work over their entire career than it does the music to a political thriller. Whether you're a fan of the movie or haven't even seen it, collectors of beautiful scores really should add this album to to their buy list. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
