Lakeshore Records release the soundtrack to Bang Bang Baby. The movie follows Stepphy, a small town girl who’s caught between her big dreams of stardom and her controlling father... Bang Bang Baby is a musical science fiction film, which pays Homage to classic horror and sci-fi films of the 1950s/60s. The soundtrack album contains 18 tracks (30 min, 42 sec) and is a mix of musical numbers and Darren Fung's score (5 tracks - 8 min, 07 sec). Not having seen the movie, I'm unsure whether the fact that Jane Levy can just, barely, sing in tune (with the assistance of autotune) is down to the movie's plot. She's a normal girl who dreams of being a star, but maybe the film shows that she's not really talented enough to make it as a singer. The 'Juniper Lane' theme, which is woven throughout the score has a feeling of Skeeter Davis's '60s song 'The End of the World'. In addition, 'Human Mutations' reminded me of Danny Elfman's work on the Batman movie franchise. It's an interesting score, and one that will certainly be welcomed by the film's fans. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
