MovieScore Media releases its latest collaboration with composer Scott Glasgow who provides a stylistically varied thriller score for an investigation unraveled in flashbacks. Written and directed by Greg Francis, Poker Night is a uniquely structured dark crime thriller centred around a rookie cop being captured by a serial killer and held in a dungeon - all the while he is trying to remember the stories from the titular poker night where veteran cops all discussed their most difficult cases. These were meant to be lessons if the rookie cop ever got into trouble, but can the shared wisdom help out this time...? Scott Glasgow's score for Poker Night contains 24 tracks (1 hr, 17 min, 50 sec). On balance it's an interesting soundtrack, with a few subtle themes interwoven throughout the album. However, be warned as the The majority of the tracks are of the background, atmospheric variety. While this no doubt works well in the movie, they sound a little dull when listened to on their own. The one stand out track is 'Maxwell'. I say "stand out", because after a few subtle tracks in which you can very easy tune out, 'Maxwell' has such a beautiful theme at its core that it's hard not to be bowled over by it. Other tracks of note include 'Amy'; 'Ship Yard Discovery' and 'Lessons'. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
