About a year ago I finally caved in and bought an iPad and picked up a cheap Bluetooth speaker. There were so many to chose from that I went for one that looked good and only cost £20. When it turned up it was way smaller than I was expecting and I had a problem synching it. The sound was adequate, but nothing special.

So when I was sent the Boomtube for review I finally realised what sound quality I'd been missing in the last year. It's not only fairly chunky and heavy (for the size), but the sound is far superior than you have any right to expect for under £30.

In addition you can change the mode and listen to the radio, or you can insert a TF card with music already on it. This means that if you're travelling then you don't even need a wireless device, simply transfer all your favourite albums on to a handful of TF cards and you're all set.

And even if you don't have a bluetooth enabled player (I have an iPod Classic) you can still connect it to the speaker via the supplied AUX cable, which simply fits into the headphone jack of your player.

It looks retro cool and stylish, and for £30 it has fantastic sound quality and more features than you should really expect for the price.
