Rookie Blue: Season 5 - Volume 2 (2015 11 eps x 45 mins) is a strange beast and one set loose to confuse the unwary buyer as the fifth season was split in two, meaning you can get the same episodes either masquerading as season six, or in this case the latter half of season five. Bottom line, the show was cancelled at the end of season five. This was probably a good point at which to end the story of a diverse collection of people who join as new policemen and women, there obviously had to come a time when they graduated into self-sufficient police, some even getting promotions. As such the show was able to finish its run in good order, tying up loose ends in the narrative and providing a suitable goodbye to the characters the audience had come to know and care about. The three DVD set brings us back to the story a month after the evidence room bombing and many of the following episodes have this in the background, the rest are a combination of stand-alone stories and character pieces. The DVD set has audio options for either English 5.1 Dolby Digital or 2.0 Dolby Digital, with optional English subtitles. It was never a bad show, but although it was in the mould of Hill Street Blues, it failed to be as adventurous as the format allowed. 6 Charles Packer Buy this item online
