Take on the role of saving one of seven quirky retirement village residents, each racing for their soul in "pimped up" mobility scooters against the Grim Reaper. Our old heroes are armed with a variety of homemade weapons and gadgets to take on anything the Grim Reaper and his Zombie army may throw at them. Can you survive the retirement village...?

Review imageCoffin Dodgers is a racing where you play a pensioner in a mobility scooter who has to out fox and out race other oldsters in a bid to beat Death (who for some reason also has a souped up mobility scooter). Don't come last in the race and you live to race another day, but should you be last across the finish line, Death will claim you as his prize.

The main thing carrying Coffin Dodges is its sense of humour. Sadly, the idea is funny for about five seconds. It's not a very exciting racing game either. In fact the main thing this has going for it is the funny, quirky score that plays as you race around the circuit.

From the options menu you can choose from the following modes: Single Player, Split Screen, Story, Quick Race, Time Trial, Open World and Crazy Granddad.

Most of these are pretty self explanatory. Crazy Granddad sees you having to find an item somewhere in the town by following the pointer on the screen. Get there in time and you have to find another.

Review imageThe main thrust of the game sees you trundling around the race course trying to beat the other wrinklies. To help you are speed boosts and weapons dotted around the map. The weapons can be unleashed as and when you collect them and you can only use one at a time, you can't store them up. In addition you can whack other racers with your walking stick as you pass them.

You can also customise and upgrade your cart in the garage. This should give you a competitive edge against the other racers.

Other than its humour, this game offers absolutely nothing new or challenging to the cart race genre. Probably the most fun you'll have is playing split screen mode against your friends.
