MovieScore Media release Daniel Belardinelli's score for Lamb. The movie is based on the novel by Bonnie Nadzam and traces the self-discovery of David Lamb in the weeks following the disintegration of his marriage and the death of his father. Hoping to regain some faith in his own goodness, he turns his attention to Tommie, an awkward and unpopular eleven-year-old girl. Lamb is convinced that he can help her avoid a destiny of apathy and emptiness, and takes Tommie for a road trip from Chicago to the Rockies, planning to initiate her into the beauty of the mountain wilderness. The journey shakes them in ways neither expects... Daniel Belardinelli's score for Lamb features two very contrasting sets of cues. The first is represented by a series of simple, yet beautiful, solo piano themes which were written before the film was even shot - taking inspiration from both the script and the novel. The second set includes a contrasting group of dense dramatic cues featuring tank drums, Tibetan bowls, analog synths and strings that were carefully crafted around action and dialogue. The score contains 15 tracks (33 min, 04 sec) and incorporates some impressive themes. Personal favourite tracks include 'Secret Trip'; 'The 14th Fence Post'; 'Lamb Postlude' as well as the hauntingly eerie 'Haunted Shed' and 'Linny Leaves'. It's an interesting score that's well worth seeking out. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
