Outside is inspired by the feelings and emotions provided by the sight of all kind of weather through the window of composer Maximilien Mathevon's home. From the sadness and melancholia of rainy, icy and foggy weather to the quiet and reassuring warmth of sunny daylight... Outside is an electronic album that marks the passing of time for the composer as he views it from the warmth of his own home via a window. While it's debatable whether you'll make a logical link between the music and each track, there's no getting around the fact that this is quite an impressive electronic album - a little like a more classically defined Orbital LP. The tracks have titles including 'Rain', 'Ice', 'Wind', 'Mist', 'Sun' and 'Air' - although whether you envisage "air" as a form of weather is questionable. Personally, I did manage to connect each track with its subject matter, even if at times it was a bit of a stretch. But, as I mentioned previously, this isn't essential to enjoy this chill out album. The LP contains 6 tracks (43 min, 51 sec) and it's certainly an electronic album that will stir something deep within your soul. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
