MovieScore Media releases Panu Aaltio's score for Tale of a Lake. The documentary focuses on the world of rivers and the thousands of lakes of Finland with stories ranging from birds, fish and their spawn, to the lives of critically endangered seal pups... Following on from Panu Aaltio's 2012 soundtrack for Tale of a Forest, which was voted as the Best Original Documentary Score by the International Film Music Critics Association (IFMCA), comes his music for Tale of a Lake. The score opens with 'Ahitar The Water Spirit' which is a beautiful melancholic track that James Horner would have been proud to have composed. While there were not as many notable and memorable moments as Tale of a Forest, there are still way more impressive themes on this album than you have any right to expect. Of this album's 22 tracks (1 hr, 02 min, 46 sec), personal favourites include 'Ahitar The Water Spirit'; 'Reunion'; the waltz based 'Bug Ballet'; 'Seal Pup'; and 'The Water Cycle'. Another wonderfully multi-layered score from Aaltio that is worth checking out. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
