Emotional is fronted by singer songwriter and founder of Death Records, Brian Wakefield. Hailing from San Jose native, Wakefield has been part of the San Francisco music community since the start of the century. Emotional was originally designed so that Wakefield could embarked upon an experimental side pop project to Melted Toys. Ahh... The Name is Emotional, Baby! is Emotional's debut album. Taking it's title, and cover design from Bootsy's Rubber Band's 1977 Funk album Ahh...The Name Is Bootsy, Baby!, Ahh... The Name is Emotional, Baby! contains 10 tracks (33 min, 46 sec). It's a bit of a bizarre throwback album which attempts to drag the past into a more modern setting. There are plenty of '70s sounds reverberating through this album (most obviously the guitar work on 'Could I Be The Last One'). But it's much more than a nod to the past. It stands as an interesting indie pop album. It's certainly worth checking out. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
