Jon Stone and Kristy Osmunson make up American Young. The collaborative fresh new duo already claim songwriting credits for hit makers Kenny Chesney, Lee Brice, Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton and more. Their self-titled EP is released through Curb Records... American Young's new EP, American Young, contains 6 songs (20 min, 58 sec) of modern country music. It's a strong release, with a good mix of tracks. The album opens with 'Wasn't Gonna Drink Tonight', a track that borders Indie Pop. In fact, the entire album spreads itself across the genres of Country, Soft Rock and Pop. The songs are instantly accessible, with a few tracks becoming instantly memorable after the first listen ('Love Is War' being the most notable). But that's not to say these songs are shallow, far from it. Subsequent listens open up subtle elements of the tracks that were hidden on the first play through. American Young is an EP that will grow the more times you listen to it. And, when you've finally moved on to the next thing, in months to come, don't be surprised if you find yourself digging it out and playing it to death again in months and years to come. 9 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
