Leeds-based electronic experimental noise pop duo Department M release their new album Deep Control through Hide & Seek Records. The project is a deep and expansive concept album - a discourse on anxiety, OCD and the harsh realities of life in the modern world, it's an emotionally astute look at the pressures of city life and coming to terms with your own mental health... Department M is the brain child of Owen Brinley (ex-Grammatics) and Tommy Davidson (Pulled Apart By Horses). Deep Control is an electronic pop album with a definite '80s feel to it. Building on the colder electronica of previous singles, there's more of a heart to these tracks. The album contains 12 tracks (45 min, 49 sec) and is one of those projects that works best when listened to from beginning to end, rather than dipping in and out of. It's an interesting album and certainly rewards repeat listening. 6 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
