Frederik Wiedmann releases his original score for the RTL even movie Duell der Brüeder. The movie is set in the 1920s and follows brothers Adolf and Rudolf Dassler who manufacture sports shoes. Adolf is the craftsman, while Rudolf is the business man and after the Second World War their relationship begins to fall apart. Each brother believes that the success of the business is mainly down to them alone. The two brothers eventually started their own rival companies: Adidas and Puma,,, Frederik Wiedmann's score for Duell der Brüeder was a pleasant surprise. I mean, seriously, who is expecting a beautiful score to come out of a TV movie about sibling cobblers who have a bit of a falling out? Okay, I know, that's being a little too simplistic, but was anyone really expecting a classical masterpiece? But then, this is from the composer who brought us some incredible music for The Damned; Dying of the Light; Field of Lost Shoes; Green Lantern: The Animated Series; and many more. In fact, it's an almost guaranteed mark of quality when you see Wiedmann's name attached to any project these days. The album contains 29 tracks (54 min) and there are too many beautiful themes to choose from, but if pushed I'd have to single out 'Der Krieg' for containing arguably this album's most interesting theme. Like a lot of Wiedmann's work, this is as close to modern classical music as you're likely to get in the soundtrack genre. Beautiful stuff. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
