USM has reissued Placebo's fifth studio album Meds on 180gm vinyl. The album was originally released in 2006 and includes the singles 'Because I Want You'; 'Song to Say Goodbye'; 'Infra-Red' and 'Meds'...

It's strange revisiting this album ten years later. On its original release I wasn't a huge fan of Meds. I'd been following the band since their debut album and by the release of Meds I was beginning to think that the band was watering down its music. I bought Meds, but didn't play it for very long as nothing really grabbed me and made me want to listen to the album over and over. Now, a decade on, while still not one of the best Placebo releases, I have to admit that I found it a lot more enjoyable.

The album contains 13 songs (47 min, 57 sec). There still aren't any stand out tracks for me, and it's more an album that is pleasurable to listen to from start to finish.

It's doubtful that many will be buying this without already owning the original CD. This 180gm vinyl edition is a serious record collector's dream.

If you're a fan of Placebo and a lover of vinyl you don't need my recommendation to buy this - you'll have it on order for months.
