Lakeshore Records release Michael Yezerski's score for HBO Documentary Films's Only the Dead See the End of War is war correspondent Michael Ware’s searing account of witnessing the birth of ISIS, and one of the most shocking war documentaries to come out of Iraq. Ware arrived in Baghdad in 2003 as a novice reporter on a three-week assignment to cover the invasion of Iraq. He left seven years later, having gained unprecedented access to the Iraqi insurgency and American troops, as well as a myriad of demons - the after-effects of witnessing seemingly endless, horrific violence... Michael Yezerski's score for Only the Dead See the End of War is a no nonsense, straight to the point, collection of hard hitting tracks which sweep in, help tell the story, and then back out again. As a consequence, there's little here in the way of memorable themes. The album contains 20 tracks (37 min) and opens and closes with arguably the score's only beautiful segments of music 'Dark Places' and 'Only the Dead See the End of War'. The other notable track is the impressive 'Warning Shots'. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
