From Folk music to Trance and electronic beat making, siblings Trevor, Jaclyn, and Allie Bluma have never stopped experimenting with their musical output. Doomsquad started as a bit of fun out of a shared passion, but soon mushroomed into a full-scale art project. The band’s debut LP, Kalaboogie (2014) was a self-recorded album made in the woods of Northern Canada.Since then, Doomsquad have continued to explore new themes and forms of expression... Total Time is Doomsquad's latest album. The LP contains 9 tracks (48 min, 22 sec) of chill out dance music. It's dark, it's broody and contains Disco synth tones flavoured with African-inspired beats contrasted with more up front vocals, and aggressive lyrics addressing misogyny, consumerism, and hollow artifice. It's a strange, chill out album that just sort of washes over you without really leaving any lasting impression. There's an "explicit" warning for language, but I have to be honest and admit I couldn't make out much of the lyrics, and I certainly didn't hear any obvious swearing. There's no escaping the fact that as chill out Dance albums go, this is flawless. But it's certainly an album you have to be in the right mood for. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
