Betibop takes the best of three studios recording sessions, featuring both original works and re-arrangements by the Tullia Morand, saxophonist and young jazz artist on the parisian scene... Betibop contains 10 songs (44 min, 20 sec). This is a laid back Jazz album, focusing on sax - not surprising as this is Tullia Morand's expertise on show here. However, while this is a sax heavy album, that doesn't mean that the other talented French artists who help to round out this LP's sound don't get their own moment in the spotlight. Morand graciously shares the recording session equally with all her co-performers. Nowhere is this more evident than on ensemble pieces like the track 'Betibop'. There's some serious diversity over the course of this album. 'Montalivet's Blues' is a funky number that's hard not to tap your feet to, while 'Continue Nue' is a sexy, slow dance tune that is hard not to fall in love with. For those that detest Jazz, there'll be little here to sway your musical preferences, but for the rest of us Morand turns in an enjoyable, timeless album here. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
