Lakeshore Records release Wojciech Golczewski's score for 400 Days. The movie centres on four astronauts who are sent on a simulated mission to a distant planet to test the psychological effects of deep space travel. Locked away for 400 days, the crew’s mental state begins to deteriorate when they lose all communication with the outside world. Forced to exit the ship, they discover that this mission may not have been a simulation after all...

If you haven't seen the movie, then the soundtrack to 400 Days may seem a bit of an odd choice to add to your soundtrack collection. Wojciech Golczewski delivers an atmospheric score that manages to implant itself into your brain.

Given the movie's premise, the music was designed to heighten a number of emotions in the audience, something which Golczewski manages to achieve incredibly well. Just listening to the score triggers some of the more primeval reactions. Over the course of this soundtrack's 21 tracks (51 min, 01 sec) we are subjected to fear, isolation, paranoia and uncertainty as Golczewski works his magic,

The only real downside is that it's not a comfortable listen. While technically this is flawless, I'm struggling to think of a time when I'd be happy putting this on for entertainment. While I loved what Golczewski has delivered I can't think of a reason to play this outside of the movie.
