Kreng's original score for Camino is released through Lakeshore Records. In the movie, a photojournalist gets more than she bargained for when she snaps a photo of a shadowy religious figure in the jungles of Colombia, triggering a flight-and fight-for her life... Kreng's score for Camino is certainly a well polished, suspense score, so if you're a fan of that style of soundtrack you'll love it. Over the course of this album's 21 tracks (1 hr, 02 min, 35 sec) there's quite a number of impressive, yet very subtle themes. There's your standard chase music (as can be witnessed in tracks like 'Justical') as well as plenty of suspense tracks. However, there's a few too many atmospheric segments that go nowhere (essential in the film, but boring when listened to on their own). 'Can You See the Spiral Now' is one of this score's highlights. It opens with a church organ which then widens to encompass additional synthesised sounds. On balance I found plenty to enjoy here, but it's not the sort of score I'd dig out to listen to very often. It's possibly best left where it belongs, heightening the tension of the movie. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
