Maximilien Mathevon has composed the original soundtracks for numerous documentaries for French TV channels (CANAL+, ARTE, M6, France Televisions). He has created new musical accompaniments for 12 famous silent movies which were reissued in France on DVD (20,000 leagues Under the Sea, Outside the Law, Way Down East). Mathevon has also composed several Electronic / New Age albums, blending ethnic sonorities, classical and electro styles. Wild is his latest project... Wild is a concept album composed by Maximilien Mathevon. Mathevon has scored many documentaries, but has always had a burning desire to tackle a wildlife documentary, but has never had the opportunity. With numerous ideas rattling around in his head, rather than wait to be asked, Mathevon decided to compose the music, regardless, for an imaginary wildlife documentary. This allowed him to create music and bring forth emotionally charged tracks that came from the heart rather than from a technical process of writing music to fit onscreen images. The results are pretty impressive, allowing Mathevon to shape and create music and give birth to it in a way that would be hard to do in any other project. The album contains 14 tracks (36 min, 51 sec). While I enjoyed all of the tracks, I have to single out 'Parade of The Tiger' as being of exceptional merit. This is an incredible album with plenty of intricate and impressive themes. It's just a shame that orchestras are so expensive to book - as this would have been even more beautiful as an orchestrated release. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
