Silva Screen Records release Stuart Earl’s score for the BBC's three-part adaptation of Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. His mastery is not to underline, but to draw from the story and characters, and to craft an exquisite sound world, and this is what he accomplishes here. A meditation on guilt, the 3-part drama serial premiered in the UK between 26 and 28 December 2015 on BBC One in the UK. Based on Agatha Christie's novel of the same name, And Then There Were None is one of the best-selling crime novels of all time, with 100 million copies sold worldwide...

Stuart Earl's score for the BBC TV series adaptation of Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None is an impressive, modern score. The album contains 15 tracks (23 min, 01 sec) and what it lacks in quantity it more than makes up for in quality. It's a subtle, underplayed collection of themes which take quite some time to grow on you. Eerie, yet beautiful, tracks like 'Vera's Truth' are instantly accessible, while other segments, like 'Longing' take a little more time to be appreciate.

Setting the right tone for the show, Earl's music borders on psychological horror and certainly add much tension to the onscreen imagery. Listened to outside of the show, it acts as a rather unsettling collection of subtle, yet beautiful themes.

If you haven't seen this adaptation, then I can certainly recommend it. But, whether you've seen the show or not, this score makes for an interesting listen.
