Clinton Shorter's original score for the TV series The Expanse is released through Lakeshore Records. Hundreds of years in the future, humans have colonized the solar system. The U.N. controls Earth. Mars is an independent military power. The planets rely on the resources of the Asteroid Belt, where air and water are more precious than gold. For decades, tensions have been rising between these three places. Earth, Mars and the Belt are now on the brink of war. And all it will take is a single spark... Over the course of this score's 19 tracks (46 min, 04 sec), Clinton Shorter manages to deliver some interesting and, on occasion, eerie themes. 'Father' is probably the most haunting track on the album. Outside of the TV series the music is just as memorable and as interesting. it's a collection of lovingly crafted sci-fi themes that gets off on the right note with the memorable 'The Expanse'. There's a slight element of atmospheric music cues, but not enough to make it distracting or annoying. Fans of the series will love this. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
