Andy Shauf's The Party is an impressive album, which bring to mind the sound of another era. This is a retro sounding Indie album that is so easy to get caught up in. I couldn't help but be reminded of Mike Batt's output in the '70s as well as, to a lesser extent, Scritti Politti's work in the '80s. Of this album's 10 tracks (37 min, 39 sec) personal highlights include 'Quite Like You'; 'The Worst in You'; 'Eyes of Them All'; and 'Martha Sways'. It's a laid back, sweet album that will take you back to a time when life seemed so much simpler. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
