Brighton based collective Moulettes, continue their journey into the alternative pop/rock/folk universe with the release of their latest album Preternatural - an eclectic but cohesive 11 track (44 min, 38 sec) collection, that explores the many varied forms of life on Earth. It’s a beautifully orchestrated piece of work, experimental in parts but still accessible, fusing rich vocal harmonies, persuasive melodies, and elaborate compositions to make a genre defying album that explores the moving gaps of electronic and acoustic; DIY and big production. Highlights include the album's opener 'Behemoth’, a heavy, drum-driven progressive anthem inspired by a loud and unidentified sound recorded in the pacific; 'Coral', a more laid back affair with alt pop overtures; 'Hidden World', an otherworldly trippy track; and 'Parasite', an electro rock upbeat song. Over the course of this album Moulettes don't disappoint. It's an uplifting, not to mention emotionally rewarding, LP. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
