Varèse Sarabande release Neal Acree's score for the video game Revelation. It earned the Global Music Award (Game Music and Original Score), the Scorecast Genius Choice Vote Award, and earned nominations for a Game Audio Network Guild Award as “Best Instrumental” by the International Film Music Critics Awards for "Best Score: Video Game...” Neal Acree's score for the video game Revelation is an impressive collection of beautiful themes. Over the course of this album's 23 tracks (50 min, 34 sec) there are so many interesting segments of music that's its difficult to know where to start singing its praises. The opening track, 'The Chosen - Main Theme From Revelation' starts everything off on the right note, and sets the scene for the coming music. Given the game's setting it's not a surprise to discover that the music has an Asian feel to it, which means that the use of indigenous instruments is employed. As Acree was not formally trained in Asian music, he undertook research to ensure it was as genuine as possible, as well as employing musicians who truly understand their instrument and who grew up playing Chinese music. The results speak for themselves. Personal highlights are too numerous to list, but if I was being ruthless with my choices I'd have to give praise to 'The Chosen - Main Theme From Revelation'; 'Destiny'; 'Endless Night'; and 'Lost Forest'. It's a beautiful score that works well as a standalone project. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
