Varèse Sarabande Marcelo Zarvos's score for the TV series Ray Donovan. Ray Donovan is a "fixer" for Hollywood's elite. He is the go-to guy that the city's celebrities, athletes and business moguls call to make their problems disappear. It's a much more lucrative job than his previous work as a ruthless South Boston thug, vaulting him within reach of the truly wealthy and powerful. But no amount of money or the expensive things it can buy can completely mask Ray's past... Fans of Ray Donovan will be grateful that a soundtrack to the series is finally released. If you've not seen the show, then there's probably little here to get excited about. Marcelo Zarvos (who created such beauty with scores including The Bay, Beastly, The Face of Love, Reaching for the Moon and The Words) turns in a functional album that delivers nothing more than a backdrop for the show. While there are some interesting moments, it's mainly comprised of atmospheric background material. There's nothing here to make you feel like playing it again, but equally there's nothing so dull that will make you reach for the off button. The album contains 29 tracks (1 hr, 05 min, 46 sec). Personal highlights include 'Phone Message' (which is a slow burning, beautiful track); 'Ray Warns Mickey' and 'Finale'. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
