Reverieme is the moniker of Louise Connell, an artist who hails from the Scottish market town of Airdrie. A secondary school teacher who is as passionate about her artistic output as she is her chosen profession... Straw Woman is a Pop Folk based album that allows Reverieme to show of her vocal range and various styles her voice can adapt to. It follows on from 2010's Melodies and 2013's With Up So Floating. There's a confidence and force running through this LP and the diversity of the songs makes it feel like a greatest hits compilation. The album contains 14 songs (48 min) with personal highlights including this album's stand out track - the haunting 'Plankton'; The Cranberries-esque 'Fairy Stories'; 'Golem'; the upbeat 'Sure'; 'One For Sorrow'. and 'When There Was'. In fact it would have been quicker for me to point out which songs I didn't enjoy: zero. It's a beautiful, wonderfully performed album of timeless, gorgeous songs. 10 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
