British singer-songwriter, Steve Young’s music, has been described as "country music with pop sensibilities". After years on the road, most notably as guitarist and co-writer for Darren Hayes, he has finally released his own blend of acoustic country/pop & blues... Troubadour is Steve Young's debut album. A mix of Pop, Country and Blues, this is a laid back LP which will easily grow on you. The album contains 13 songs (45 min, 30 sec) and there's a good mix of styles here to keep you interested for its duration. I could probably have done without the occasional whistling. While on 'Norwegian Girl' it's a little distracting, on 'In My Dreams' it's very slightly off key - but enough to be grating. This is a shame because 'In My Dreams' is one of the album's highlights. The album leaves on a high point (one of this releases most impressive tracks) 'Sweet Mary', which will leave you wanting more. It's an enjoyable, laid back affair. Perfect for unwinding to in the evening. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
